Focusing‑oriented Therapy
Focusing-oriented therapy is very effective in supporting trauma recovery and inner child work. Focusing engages whole brain approaches in clinical practice – using empathy, emotion, attachment theory and relational aspects in psychotherapy. Modern brain science has shown that Focusing supports the integration of the right and left brain.
By tuning into bodily sensations, clients engage deep subcortical emotional centres alongside higher cognitive areas. This process supports “felt shifts” and movements in therapy, while cultivating a baseline reduction in reactivity and a foundation of calm in the nervous system.
